In this workshop, award-winning poet Nikki Grimes shares the impact of poetry and novels in verse, explores how verse can be used to entice even reluctant readers, motivate them to write, and enhance the culture of the classroom. Attendees have a chance to write using poetry prompts created by Grimes, which they can later use with their own students.
